The Clifton Suspension Bridge, designed by Isambard Kingdom Brunel and completed in 1864, spans the Avon Gorge at a height of 245 feet above the River Avon's high water level.

The Gorge offers some of the finest panoramic views to be found in any city and the Bridge is used by both pedestrians and motor vehicles.
